Namba Parks is a modern shopping complex in Osaka, Japan. It is an amazing display of organic architecture that features a rooftop park scattered with large mature trees, that ascends eight levels of the complex. The view from the top-level gives visitors the feeling of standing on a natural mountaintop, right here in the middle of one of Japan’s busiest cities.

When I was taking this shot, I had my camera fixed to my tripod, pointing to the ceiling, with the LCD panel flipped down acting like a modern periscope. I walked around much of this space, shuffling left and right, rotating and twisting until I found the composition I was after. I received many confused looks from shoppers and staff as I worked my way through this shoot.
