The majestic Osaka Castle sits high on it’s stone base. This castle dates back to 1597. Rebuilt in the 1620’s, it features gardens and a museum with a variety of exhibits.

This was my last day in Osaka on this trip to Japan and I wanted to capture an image that not only showed off the castle, but also highlighted the incredible construction of the huge stone walls that line the surrounding moat. I walked the garden paths that circle the body of water around the castle until I came across this location. I think it shows off the best features of the castle and the enormous foundation walls.
