Sunset on my first day in Acadia National Park was at the top of Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on Mt Desert Is. For much of the year, this peak is the first part of the US that is touched by the morning sun. This proved to be another very popular spot for photographers and if you arrived late, you would be hard-pressed trying to find room to setup a tripod. Bitterly cold and blowing a gale, several people retreated to the warmth of their cars while others watched their tripods topple over from the wind. Despite the conditions, the sunset itself was gorgeous!
