The traditional architecture of Singapore’s Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is contrasted on a background of a modern, glowing metropolis.
This temple was only a short walk from where I was staying in Singapore and so I left it for the very last spot to visit on this particular day. The temple was closed when I arrived and the view from the street wasn’t as appealing as I had hoped. Exploring the surrounds for a short while, I came across a residential complex with an external staircase. This is the view from about the 12th floor. I had already covered about 30 km on foot this day with a 15kg pack on my back and so the climb up these 12 flights of stairs was a lot harder than it should have been.
I love the contrast between the traditional architecture of the temple and the modern skyscraper-filled city in the background.
