It’s hard to put into words just how incredibly beautiful this hilltop village is. I’m not sure if we were just lucky with our visit, but Pitigliano seemed a lot less busy and somehow more welcoming than similar Tuscan hilltop towns and villages. We stayed in a gorgeous apartment built upon the cliff face in this image. If you peered out the dining room window, the views were endless, but the view left, right and straight down, was nothing but cliffs, rocks and bricked sides of buildings. Beautiful!

We arrived into Pitigliano from the south and this image has been taken from the side of the road that leads into the village. There was no need to trek miles to find the perfect location for this shot… it was just right there. I wonder if the locals ever stop staring in amazement at this incredible view.
