The Marina Bay Sands hotel dominates the Singapore skyline from miles around. It’s an incredible structure. Built at a cost of S$8 billion which was more than S$4 billion over budget, it’s an amazing example of modern architecture. From every angle, the building looks like a modern art sculpture that stretches more than 200m into the sky.

Almost every cityscape shot I took during my time in Singapore has the Marina Bay Sands as a prominent feature. This image was shot from one of the pathways that leads into the Gardens by the Bay. I thought it was a particularly interesting angle and one that shows off the unique shape of the design. Singapore really is an architecture lover’s playground and this is just one of many examples the city has to offer.
